The painting below is the largest I’ve painted and is I think very representative of the style that has become my signature though I think each series does have it’s individual signature that keeps me painting one series after another.
Summer is really my favorite time for painting and I really don’t on why. I’ve never analyzed why because I don’t think there is a way to know. It just is. Although I paint all year round, when it gets warm something happens and my energy and attention seem to coalesce in a way that always surprises me. I always take advantage of this time because as fall turns to winter everything slows down. Right now I’m taking advantage of the heat and the quiet that is noticeable in the building where my studio is housed. Maybe I feel like I’m on vacation. Funny thing to say.

This painting is now on the wall right beside my easel. It’s color and the joy it brings me just to be near it is amazing and definitely inspiring as I start another series of paintings though somewhat different in character they are tied to spirit of this painting.
