Deep Water

I am spending days in the studio this week working on paintings I had hidden from my view so that I could think about them in the abstract, so to speak. When I turned them around to view them on Monday of this week, I had a renewed interest and began to find a way to continue as though it had not been weeks ago since last I looked. It was a revelation and though I do not recommend to myself that I wait that long a time before continuing on a painting, I think it was a good idea this time and I am going to pull them through to the finish. The first one pictured here.

  1. Love this painting, Helen! I like the idea of letting a painting rest and coming back to it later. You bring a completely new perspective after you “detach” from it for awhile.
